Gillmor Gang loses Attention for its advertisers

I like to listen to the Gillmor Gang when walking Satch.

I’m not the type of person who generally skips commercials or even flicks around during the breaks while watching TV.

Today, I found myself fast forwarding through the Gillmor Gang intro to get to the show.

Why? Because I’m tired of Steve Gillmor explaining why its okay to have an Earthlink ad.
It turns a short commercial into a four minute one and has the opposite effect for the advertiser (at least it did to me).

I understand Steve had good reasons the first time or two around to give his point of view on why it’s a good thing to have a mainstream advertiser. But this is like the fourth or fifth time around.

I don’t even know what he said today, but it started, “…now, about our advertiser, Earthlink.”, and I ran for cover.

Let Earthlink say it. I respect them if they say something good.
If they don’t, no matter how long Steve talks about it, it won’t work.
